Blood Sea Print Robe

An all-over print robe on a near-black ground of rolling swells drawn in thin crimson lines, like a sea of blood. The hem and cuffs carry a band of surging blood-red waves with scarlet light rising from them. Small schools of bladewing blood bats are scattered across the whole robe.

The back carries one large school of bats rising out of the hem sea, as in the novel, where the bats rose from a blood lake "just like a travelling shoal of fish" (ch 183). Every bat follows the novel's description: blood-colored, with two long pointed ears, two pairs of wings with the smaller pair below the main pair, no claws, and wing edges as sharp as steel blades (ch 183). The front edge band and belt are solid black. There is no text on the garment.
